13One of the most persistent of theories regarding the UFOs that apparently orbit our planet and apparently have been doing so for hundreds if not thousands of years is that propensity to focus a lot of their interest in particular attentions on a specific geographic area on the planet. One such example is the small and incredibly unspectacular town of Needles in the Mojave valley of California, close to the Nevada border. Even the locals will tell you that the only thing that is good about the town of Needles is that ability to pass through it quickly on the famous Route 66.
Admittedly many people do choose to stop of at Needles for a pit stop, stretch their legs and drink something cool before continuing their journey to the West Coast. That number has increased dramatically over the last few months, as more and more people, curious to discover more about what happened on the 14th of May 14, 2008, in that town as well as to try and discover why Needles has reported another two similar incidents although slightly less dramatic than the most recent. The first was back in 1997, a time when there appeared to be a much higher than average incidence of UFO sightings going on all across the planet. During this incident, a large oval shaped object emitting a turquoise colored glow was spotted over the skies of Needles. Eye witnesses reported that at one stage it appeared to make a dead stop, as if it was photographing or making an image of the distinctively pointed rocks from which the town of Needles took their name. What makes the town of Needles different is that it sits on the junction between the stats of California, Nevada and Arizona. The rocks are actually situated in Arizona on the Colorado River,
The UFO sighting that took place on the 14th of May 2008 was first reported by a character who gave his name as Bob. Bob reported seeing an object moving high in the sky in the early hours of that morning. He pointed out that whilst the glowing turquoise-blue-green object was moving fast across the sky, it seemed to be in some form of distress. He added that there appeared to flames coming from the craft. Obviously excited by the vista, Bob followed its flight path as it appeared to rapidly descend and eventually make some form of crash landing on the Californian side of the Colorado River. Being a concerned citizen, Bob immediately contacted the relevant authorities on the strange encounter he had witnessed, convinced that he had seen a UFO meet a sorry fate. His suspicions were strengthened by the arrival of several helicopters over the crash scene. One of the helicopters, fitted with a sky crane, appeared to remove the crashed craft, which was stilling giving of its turquoise glow.
The next witness, retied police chief, Frank Costigan was one of those fortunate people who gets the opportunity to wake up specially every day at 3.00 am to let their cat out. This particular morning as he was standing in the backyard of his home, he looked up to see a large object shoot across the night sky. It appeared to be flashing a series of colors, predominantly green, turquoise and blue in no particular order. The object was flying at such an angle that it could only hit the ground, and sure enough as the object moved out of his line of vision, Frank heard a loud thump in the near distance, although he emphasized that there was no explosion.
Frank also reported the sudden arrival of several helicopters in the area, and suspected that some kind of rescue mission was taking place. His years of experience in the police force, had taught Frank not to interfere in police or government investigations, and he went back to bed fully expecting to hear further and fuller details of what had occurred. Imagine his surprise when not a single mention was made of the incident either on the television or in the printed media.
Frank Costigan reported the incident to the local radio station, KTOX who began to broadcast details to the local population and appealing for other witnesses to this incident. Bob came forward to report his story. He was reluctant to visit to the station, and after reporting what he had seen, cut of contact with KTOX completely.
However there appeared to be no further eye witnesses available. The owners and operators also observed that they as well as the KTOX radio station’s offices seemed to be placed under some form of surveillance from people in unmarked cars. Aliens? Probably not. Government officials? Probably.
In addition, every government authority in the area cannot or will not confirm any military activity in the area before or after the UFO appeared to hit the ground near Needles on the night of 14th of May 2008
There remains a lot of unanswered questions on the incident. Past history will confirm that answers may not be readily forthcoming. It may have been a genuine UFO crash landing, or possibly a publicity stunt organized by the locals to try and tickle the curiosity of those tens of thousands of people who whiz by Needles and get them to stop and hear the locals describe the incident.
Judge for your self by watching a local news station’s report.
